Get R.E.A.L. (Relevance in Education And Learning) is a coalition of business, labor, agriculture, public safety, technology, health care, child advocates and educators who believe California schools should provide a balanced educational experience that includes robust academic studies and industry-relevant career technical education (CTE).
Schools prioritize resources based on what state and federal governments REQUIRE, FUND and MEASURE. These are the real drivers of education policy that will continue to dictate instructional decisions. Until these drivers are broadened to include career preparatory indices, CTE will remain underfunded and neglected.
Get R.E.A.L. acts as a resource to local and statewide policy makers, regulators and educators to offer advice on policy prescriptions that will maintain and expand high-quality, industry-relevant CTE programs from the pre-K through post-secondary system.
To ensure all California students are equipped with the necessary career direction and in-demand skills to succeed in the 21st Century global marketplace, whether or not their career aspirations require a college degree.
